Mary (nee Glutyk) Hamilton Mary Hamilton age 90 years of Flin Flon, MB, and formerly of Cranberry Portage, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2004 at Flin Flon Personal Care Home, Flin Flon, MB. Mary Glutyk was born February 22, 1914 in the R.M. of Shell River, a daughter of George and Anna (nee Smorhun) Glutyk. After receiving her education Mary was united in marriage in 1929 to John Kozak and they farmed together in the Merridale District. They later moved to Rossburn where they operated a bowling alley and pool hall. After John passed away Mary moved to Winnipeg. While living in Winnipeg Mary met and later married Jim Hamilton. In 1958 they decided to move north and they took up residence in Cranberry Portage, MB. Mary's pride and joy were her beautiful flower gardens and she loved to go fishing. Mary's house was always open to all. In 1997 Mary was baptized, serving Jehovah until her passing, and remaining faithful to the end. Mary was predeceased by her parents George and Anna Glutyk, first husband John Kozak, second husband Jim Hamilton, brothers Joseph and Mike Glutyk, sisters Katie Boyanski, and Sophia Parozmik, and grandson Rick Hamilton. Surviving to mourn Mary's death and cherish many fond memories are daughter Sylvia Kozak, sons Ernest and John Kozak, grandchildren Allen, Kelvin, Janet, Karen, Darrell, Marcel, Eric, Natasha, Jason, great-grandchildren Kevin, Danica, Thaz, Justin, Matthew, Jack, Jody, Dustin, Justine, Annie, Daniel, Emmalee, Nickolas, Robington, Javen and Nicholas, brother Russell (Dora) Glutyk, sisters Helen Matsiuk, Elizabeth Karmaznuk, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral service was held Friday April 23, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Mr. John Anderson officiating. All those who had shared in Mary's life were asked to consider themselves honourary casket bearers. Casket bearers were Fred Boyanski, Dennis Dube, Darrell Kozak, Jason Nash, Alex Smigelski, Bill Tostowaryk. Following interment services at Roblin District Cemetery a reception for family and friends was held from the Banquet Room of Chicken Delight. Memorial gifts in memory of Mary Hamilton may be made to a charity of one's choice.
