EVA ADAMS/RUTKAIR Eva passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital on November 16 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Jacob Ralph Adams (1928-68) and the late William Rutkair (1973-87), Eva will be dearly missed by her four children Ralph (Kay), Ray (Jean), Wes (Pauline) and Gail (Erik) Anderson, her twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. One of thirteen children, Eva is survived by two sisters; Cassie Pidskalny of Penticton and Rose Zasibida of Moose Jaw. Born in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, Eva was married in The Pas and moved to Flin Flon as a pioneer in 1929, where she and Jake raised their family and lived for over 35 years. As a young woman Eva enjoyed playing basketball, curling and bowling. As an active member of the new community, she was a charter member and later Grand Master of the North Star Rebekah Lodge (IOOF) and a member of St. James Anglican Church. She was always ready for a good hand of bridge. Eva and Jake retired to Winnipeg in 1966. Special thanks and appreciation to Eva's niece, Julie Leefe of Oakbank and granddaughter Megan of Winnipeg for the many hours spent visiting, to the staff of the Misericordia Health Centre for their kindness, as well as to Stan and Joyce Schick of Winnipeg for the love and support they have shown Eva over the years. Interment will be at Brookside Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
