Robert Keith Arnott Keith was born in Chatham, New Brunswick, October 20, 1956. Keith's father Russ was a military man. Keith said "While he was growing up, home was from the east coast of Canada to the west coast." Keith was the oldest of four children. He was predeceased by his brother Paul. Left to mourn Keith are his parents Russ and Selma, sisters Sandra, brother Jim, all of London, Ontario. Also many relatives and friends. Keith graduated from high school in North Bay, Ontario. Keith then moved to Waterloo, Ontario where he attended the University of Waterloo and took Electrical Engineering. Keith then moved on to Victoria, British Columbia where he joined the Royal Roads Regiment. It was there Keith entered a Co-op program, which led him to Flin Flon, and eventually he hired on with H.B.M.&S., in the Zinc Plant, where in October this year he would have received his 25 year watch, which was one of the milestones he had hoped to accomplish. Keith loved fishing, swimming, archery, and later on travelling to warmer climates, where he discovered scuba diving. He must have loved this a lot as he got an instructor's certificate. Besides all those things he was an avid reader and was very knowledgeable about computers. He also received certificates for that. He helped many people set up their computers and helped solve their computer problems. Keith was a loyal Saskatchewan Roughrider fan. He belonged to the Riders fan club. He took in as many games as he could, either by watching the game on television or going to the game in person. There are many stories that could be told even after Keith found out he had developed cancer. He met and made many new friendships that helped him along the way. Everyone from the airport staff, pilots, stewardesses, Lennox Bell staff, doctors and nurses, both in Winnipeg and here in Flin Flon, including the chemo and radiation specialists. And the many new acquaintances battling the same disease! We thank all these people for their care and attention that was given to our friend Keith. Keith's parents spent the last few weeks with Keith while he underwent a bone marrow transplant in Winnipeg. His mother Selma was at Keith's side when he slipped peacefully away. As per Keith's wishes, he was cremated. On behalf of Keith's parents and family, I would like to thank everyone for being part of Keith's life and for the care and support he received during his courageous battle with cancer.
