ROSALIE PALLANIK (nee Schlehhuber) Peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2004 in her home at the age of 86. Rosalie was born in 1917, the youngest of a large family all of whom predeceased her. Her husband, Joe, died in January 1983. Rosalie arrived in Canada in 1936 with her sister Cacilia landing in New York. A long train ride later they arrived in Flin Flon. What a change from the rolling hills of Bavaria to a land of rocks, trees and lakes. She lived there until her husband sold his business (Joe's Taxi) and retired in 1976, when they moved to Winnipeg to be near their children. They settled into the Marina del Ray in Fort Garry. Mother passed her remaining years giving her overwhelming abundance of time to her family and friends, watching hockey, knitting, needle point and cooking. Many of her works will be around for a long time to remind us. She will be sadly missed by her son Bob (Eveline), daughter Judy (Phillip) Adam and grandchildren Kyle, Lisa, Dominic and Nicola. Also special nieces Inge and Lottie (Cacilia's children) and an extended family both in Canada and Germany. A special thanks to neighbours and friends Evelyn Foster, Madeline Deleeuw and Bill Witts We will all miss Mum/Grandma/Mammy/Auntie Rose. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cancer Care Manitoba or a charity of one's choice. A memorial service will be held Friday January 23 at 3:00 p.m. at Garry Memorial Funeral Home Cemetery & Cremation Centre, 1291 McGillivray Blvd.
