John Arthur Ash The family announces with sorrow John's death at home on September 17, 2003 at the age of 74. John is survived by his brother, Raymond (Vicky) Ash of Ottawa and his sister, Beverley (Richard) Carson of Thunder Bay. Surviving relatives also include numerous nieces and nephews, and thirteen great nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents, John and Dorothy Ash, sister, Joan, and brother, Robert. John was born on August 17, 1929 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The family moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba in 1942. John graduated with a degree in engineering physics from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master's degree from the University of Alberta. During John's career, he spent considerable years working for Canadair on the Argus aircraft and the Black Brant missile. John's favourite hobby was spending time with his ham radio. He was a cheerful man with a friendly word for all. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in St. James Anglican Church, Rivers, Manitoba with the Rev. Paul Curtis officiating. Friends so wishing may make donations to the Riverdale Hospital in Rivers, Manitoba.
