MOULD - Geoffrey James Julien passed away Sunday, August 3, 2003 at the age of 81 years. Geoff was a long-time and dedicated resident of Denare Beach. He was born in Regina and later moved to Saskatoon to complete a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan at the age of 20. He then moved to Flin Flon and worked with Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting from 1942 to 1982 in several different capacities. This work also allowed him the opportunity to travel to Europe to act as consultant for mining operations there. In Flin Flon he married and raised four children while also acting in several capacities for the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks for many years. After retirement in 1982 he enjoyed travelling with his second wife Mabel and continued to teach himself about all new technologies. Although a quiet man, he never lost an opportunity to let his opinion be heard and his generosity, intelligence and unassuming personality garnered him many long-time friends in several communities. In retirement he was also active in the New Horizons and in several other community ventures. Although suffering from health problems in the last several years he always refused to leave his home that he enjoyed so much and commented often on how great his homecare girls were to help him stay in his own home. Geoff was predeceased by his parents, James and Reta; his eldest son, Jim; his first wife and mother of his children, Elvina Osarchuk; his second wife, Mabel; and an infant brother, Gerald. He is survived by son Jack (Lena) Mould and their son Clifford; son Gerry (Dianne) Mould and their son Jeffrey as well as Gerry's daughter Cindy (Bill) Wishart and her children; daughter Yolanda Mould and her sons Donald Long, Charles (Leanne) Long and their son Zachary and Charles' stepson Kyle, and her son Leonard (Stacey) Drebnicki. Geoff is also survived by and will be greatly missed by his daughter-in-law Shirley Mould, and Jim and Shirley's children Susan (and son Christopher) Mould-Dickens, Steven (Gina) Mould and Carol-Lynne (Kim) Quintin and their son Morgan. Jim and Shirley's family carry thousands of memories from the north courtesy of Geoff and his love of the Flin Flon area. We will miss your friendly "Hallooo!" and your generosity of spirit. Also left to miss Geoff are his brother Cliff (Mae) Mould and their children Roy and Dianne and their families; and his brother, Dave Mould. He is also survived by his stepchildren Gale (Amber) Craig, Curtis (Ruth) Craig, and Maynard (Verla) Craig and their families. Nor can we forget all those close friends he has made over the past 81 years who will also miss his "Hallooo!", his easygoing conversations, his flair for the piano and his great intelligence. Geoff's family wishes to thank the staff at the Flin Flon General Hospital for their care and kindness, Geoff's homecare workers, and all friends around the Flin Flon area for their caring. Donations can be made in Geoff's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Diabetes Association or to the Flin Flon General Hospital. Funeral services for Geoffrey Mould were held on Saturday, September 6, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Dadson Funeral Home in Flin Flon, Manitoba.
