A familiar face in local law enforcement is bidding farewell.

After nearly eight years with the Flin Flon RCMP, Cst. Jordan Tost is transferring to The Pas.

“I’ve loved it up here. The people have been great,” says Tost, who has been in the area longer than any other Mountie in Flin Flon or Creighton.

Tost joined the Flin Flon detachment in October 2008. He was 23 and fresh out of training.

After initially struggling to adjust to a new community full of strangers, he grew to love Flin Flon. He also started a family that includes two children.

Tost looks forward to working at a busier detachment in The Pas, as he still relishes the day-to-day work of a constable.

“It’s a neat job because no [two days] are ever the same,” he says.

“You see a lot of the worst in people, but you see a lot of the best in people, too”

Tost has in one way or another been involved in all major Flin Flon RCMP investigations since 2008, including two homicides.

His last day at the detachment will be next week.
