The second fall Flin Flon Luncheon was held at Winnipeg’s Viscount Gort Hotel on Nov. 7. There were 47 guests in attendance and not a trace of snow in the city.
The chef cooked an amazing pork roast dinner complete with scalloped potatoes, perogies, green beans and carrots as well as several salads and raw vegetables. Dessert was the usual fruit tray and assorted slices.
Flin Flon Heritage Project Committee members came with colourful blue and red travel mugs for sale. Several people purchased their own souvenir of Flin Flon and also picked up several mugs as stocking stuffers at Christmas.
We heard news of the upcoming 2015 seniors’ reunion slated for the end of June. Wayne Warren promised details of the forthcoming event in about two weeks.
Hotel rooms have been reserved, so as soon as you know the dates, be sure to book your room if you don’t already have accommodations in the Flin Flon area.
