"CORKY" In Memory of 'Dad' The moon on high like a yellow lamp Sends a pathway of light, to a spot near the "camp", It's your resting place Dad, near the lake you loved so, Where the whispering pines sway to and fro. Through the silver tint of the clouds we see The majestic eagle, and we know you are free. And the Northern Lights running wild up there Gives a feeling your spirit is everywhere. The haunting call of the loon in the bay Makes us melancholy in a peaceful way. So many times we remember now Dad coming down the lake, "old Charlie," and Gord at the bow. Then the skidoo in winter, with the kids in the sleigh. And the roaring campfire at the end of the day. You were a true northern spirit, and shared all you knew, Though nature kept you close Dad, We still miss you... Love, Your Family "Lives of great men all remind us we can make our lives sublime, And, departing, leave behind us Footprints on the sands of time."
