Father’s Day was a bit sweeter for Dad this year.
North of 53 Consumers Co-op hosted a cake-decorating workshop for children this past Saturday, June 18.
Nearly 100 kids topped pre-made, pre-iced mini cakes with colourful icings of their choice, creating a tasty treat for Dad for Father’s Day on Sunday.
“They were so proud of their cakes, it was nice to see,” said Christy Collier, bakery / deli manager at the Co-op.
This was the second cake-decorating workshop the Co-op has hosted this year. Last month, the store invited children to ice cakes for Mom ahead of Mother’s Day.
Also on Saturday, the Co-op hosted its popular Customer Appreciation Barbecue in the store parkade. Visitors enjoyed hot dogs and smokies hot off the grill.
