Our annual Christmas Flin Flon Luncheon was a definite hit for the 88 guests who attended.
It was held on Friday, Dec. 6 at the Ramada Viscount Gort Hotel in Winnipeg.
As usual the team at the Viscount Gort provided us with a festively decorated ballroom on the main floor and we were treated to a scrumptious roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings.
Several newcomers as well as visitors joined us. Michael and Shirley Dickens, formerly of Flin Flon, who now live in The Pas, attended.
Charlie Goldsmith of Vancouver was in town for the Roar of the Rings curling event and paid us a visit. Ed Hurta attended and has asked to be put on one of our phone lists.

Several members donated door prizes for this luncheon and after the meal we held a draw and folks went home with such gifts as a Christmas wreath; a Santa sleigh with lights; a ticket to the women’s finals of Roar of the Rings (courtesy of Charlie Goldsmith); gift baskets; homemade jam; and a specially made Christmas mug from members of the Flin Flon Heritage Project. We sincerely hope this group makes more of these mugs for us to purchase at a future luncheon.
