It was a gorgeous day on Sunday, October 5, when over 100 men and women (some cancer survivors), and lots of kids turned out to do the "Run/Walk for the Cure". Northland Ford served hamburgers and drinks in conjunction with the run. They raised $500 with their hamburger sale and fridge magnets. The CIBC team did fantastic with their raffle, bake sale, donations and pledges as they were able to raise $3,173! The raffle winners were : The polar bear cross stitch was won by John Kuzub. The spa basket was won by Rita Fortier. The sports bag was won by Heather Todoschuk. There were two young people, namely Corey Allen and Madison Rowe, who personally raised over $500. Some of the money was donated through FLOH's costumes and other money was raised by pledges and donations. Congratulations to these young women for their efforts towards such a worthy cause. Friends of Hope Cookbook which was compiled by people living with breast cancer and their friends, is a book that has over 400 recipes. You can get a copy at Frukeepsakes with all proceeds going to support Cancer Care Manitoba and the Breast Cancer Centre of Hope.
