Hey youth! Yeah, you. Are you a teen between the ages of 12 and 18 and looking to make sense of it all? You know...life?
We have been there, where you are or might be right now. We would like to help you find out what it all means; what is the purpose of life; what are we actually here to do. It all can be so mindboggling and overwhelming at times that you feel like you need something or someone to turn to!
If this sounds like what you might be facing in life right now, or if you are just interested to learn more about life, we would like to invite you to Youth Alpha.
Youth Alpha Film Series is a series of interactive sessions exploring the Christian faith. It is a 12-episode series designed to engage young people, just like you, in conversations about faith and life and how it all comes together.
It runs for nine weeks on Thursdays starting tomorrow, Oct. 2, at 7 pm. The night is filled with tons of exciting fellowship with other youth your age.
Start with game
We will start the evenings off with a game to work up our appetite for our snack. After the snack, there will be a film to watch followed by relationship building with your group and leaders, and time to discuss questions that you might have or just things you want to talk about.
There is no cost for the session; we just want to see you there! You also do not have to attend a specific church, but if you do, that is okay, too!
About midway through the nine-week series we have a “weekend away” where we have planned many different events, more videos, music jam sessions, hang-out sessions and more.
Although the Alpha retreat is only a few hours on Friday evening and Saturday, it is an integral part of your Alpha experience. Like the creator of Alpha, Nicky Gumble, says: “The weekend away is the time when the penny drops 18 inches: from the head to the heart.”
All in all, we would like to just invite you out on Oct. 2 to our launch night at the Flin Flon Alliance Church. You can come and check it out and see if you like it.
If you do, awesome, come back, but if it’s not for you, that’s okay, too. Just give it a chance; it’s great to get to meet new youth your age and create new friendships and learn about this thing called life.
