The first Flin Flon Luncheon in 2019 was held at the Viscount Gort Hotel on Friday, March 1, 2019.
Thanks to the phoning committee, The Reminder and the Flin Flon Heritage Project, news of the luncheon reached far and wide. We had a record 65 people in attendance for our first spring lunch. Usually we are lucky to have 50 people attend because folks are still down south or holidaying in the Caribbean, Mexico, or Hawaii. This year, people who were on their way home from sunny spots, stopped in Winnipeg to attend the luncheon.
First time guests were, Peggy Whitbread, Joan and Randy Bowman from Flin Flon, Brad Kinnear, Lawrence Prendeville, and Randy and Diane Whitbread who were on their way back to Flin Flon from a holiday in Hawaii. Blanche and Frank Gira also attended from Flin Flon.
As usual, the hotel staff made certain we had everything we needed despite the fact that we were relegated to a smaller conference room. A room that ordinarily accommodated 60 people suddenly managed to make everything work when 65 guests arrived.
Other guests who were present were Brenda Solilo, Eunice Petrychko, Dennis Goodwin, Sharon Jankovich, Jason Jankovich, Glenna Murray, Joe Greenberg, Ted Nelson, Pat Stefanchuk, David Highfield, Miles St.Godard, Dorothy Anscomb, Clint Young, Irene Young, Eve-Anne Kristjanson, Art Gauthier, Davilyn Dembinsky, Eric Burr, Doreen Burr, Bonnie Novak, Steve Novak, Lavinia Novak, Roy Walker, Ed Torz, Moira Frankenberger, Lloyd Frankenberger, Elaine McCrimmon, Kathy Choptain, Larry Brown, Doreen Edmunds, June Bohemier, Ruth Brown, Wayne Warren, Jack Turner, Jo-Ann Turner, Jim Connor, Bev Harris, Kathleen Delgatty, Heather Robbins, Carol Burnett, Elaine Taylor, Wendy Patton, Dave Patton, Ron Monson, Don Budlong, Terry Leefe, Julie Leefe, Helen Smallwood, Catherine Smallwood, Carol Seburn, Sharon Trosky, Jennie Albutt, Karen McArthur, Phil Gies and Lynn Paterson.
