Area artists lead pack at Northern Juried Art Show

Flin Flonners won six awards and received nine top-three finishes at the recent Northern Juried Art Show in Thompson.

Denare Beach photographer Brandy Bloxom led the way in the winnings, claiming three titles, including winning the photography category, the special theme award and the People’s Choice award.

Monique Rainville took top honours in the painting category for her piece portraying a back alley near Main Street, while Laura Bryson finished third in the same category. Elizabeth Fitzsimons won the watercolour award while Jan Modler came in third in the category.

Tamra Martin and Elaine Angelski finished one-two in the crafts category, with Patricia Evans finishing in third place in the fibre arts classification.

Braeden Tetlock received second prize in the youth category.

A host of other artists received honourable mentions, including Mike Spencer in crafts, Lorna Heuchert in fibre arts, Myah Leclerc in youth arts and Rosemeire Anjos in drawing.
