In 2001 Beryl James received her 25-year pin from the Willow Park Ladies Curling Club. Meanwhile, the Senior Ladies Curling Reunion that started in 1981 by Vera Bell at her cottage at Big Island is still going to this day, but is now held at Rocky View Ota with about 20 to 25 ladies coming out. When longtime curlers Andy Galambos and Doug Gourlay (Sr.) were asked what they thought of the future of Willow Park, they both laughed. They made comments such as "It will be here long after we're gone" and that much "blood, sweat and tears" and countless memories are associated with the rink. They feel that as long as there are people who want to curl there, Willow Park will continue. Future plans for Willow Park include a Ladies Hot Stove League, much to the delight of many senior women who would love to curl once a week on a mixed team that changes every square. They look forward to enjoying the fellowship of women who love the game, whether it be with a stick, brush or broom!
