A Pukatawagan man is reportedly suing two Mounties for unspecified damages after he was Tasered and wrongfully arrested in 2006. The Winnipeg Free Press reports Thomas Joseph Francois filed a statement of claim in June, having been found not guilty of resisting arrest late last year. The charge was laid after an encounter between Francois and the two RCMP officers who tried to take him into custody for breaching the peace, according to the paper. The altercation involved Francois being zapped with a Taser at least three times and apparently some damage to his home, the paper said. The Free Press said FrancoisÕ lawsuit names not only the two officers, but also the Attorney General of Canada, Rob Nicholson.
