Brandon, Man. - Manitoba Opposition leader Stuart Murray won a strong vote of confidence from his party, when delegates at the Conservatives' annual general meeting overwhelmingly rejected a call for a leadership review. All but a handful of the several hundred delegates voted down a motion to discuss reviewing Murray's performance. "I always knew that at some point, somebody may bring forward a motion (to call for a review)," Murray told reporters after the vote. Halifax - Nova Scotia's first snowfall left parts of the province in the dark yesterday. Forecasters predicted the snow wouldn't stop falling until the end of the day. "Nova Scotia is snow central today," said Environment Canada's Glenda Saulnier. Weather watchers believe up to 30 centimetres of snow could fall in the interior and northern parts of the province. Vernon, B.C. - Charges are pending against the young driver of a pickup truck that smashed into a police cruiser in Vernon on Saturday, killing an auxiliary RCMP officer and injuring his colleague. West Vancouver - As police and government investigators examine the truck that spilled its load of logs on the Upper Levels Highway Thursday, killing a woman and her daughter, the forest industry says it will order a review of truck safety procedures.
