Montreal - Loto-Qubec says it will be moving video lottery terminals (VLTs) out of bars and into special gaming centres in wealthy areas of the province. There are about 14,000 lottery terminals in bars across the province. Loto-Qubec plans to move 2,500 VLTs to other areas such as gaming centres attached to horse racing tracks. Loto President Alain Cousineau said "What we need to do is to concentrate in areas that are not socially fragile, where the risk of social costs are low." Ottawa - Liberal MP Shawn Murphy says he's heard enough and his motion makes it official - the member of the House of Commons public accounts committee wants its hearings into the sponsorship scandal suspended. The Liberal majority almost certainly assures that it will pass. Ottawa - The head of Canada's spy agency says an attack on Canada by terrorist groups such as al-Qaeda is very possible. Canadian Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS) director Ward Elcock told the House of Commons national security sub-committee that Canada was singled out twice over the last two years in taped messages by al-Qaeda. Elcock says those warnings make it clear that Canada will be targeted. Elcock also said that terrorists are operating in Canada, and that CSIS continues to monitor their activities.
