Ottawa - Prime Minister Paul Martin is the unwitting star of a new documentary that pokes fun at the stage-managed politician and debunks his "man of the people" image. Filmed over a three-year period, Waiting for Martin trails the PM-in-waiting in a bid to reveal his weak commitment to social programs during his years as finance minister. It begins cross-Canada screenings next month. Quebec - Premier Jean Charest is putting a controversial natural gas-fired plant near Montreal on hold pending a study to determine whether the province's energy needs justify its construction. Charest asked Quebec's energy board on Friday to study the project and the province's energy needs. The plant, southwest of Montreal, is slated to open in 2008. Three winners will share the second-largest jackpot in Lotto Super 7 history. There were three winning tickets in last night's $32.5-million-dollar draw. They were purchased in Alberta, Ontario and Quebec. Each is worth a cool $10.8 million dollars. Cornwall, Ontario - Traffic was flowing on the Seaway International Bridge Saturday, after a gunfight at a border station forced it to shut down for several hours Friday night. Ontario Provincial Police said the border reopened around 1 a.m., after police wrapped up an unsuccessful search for suspects. Officials moved to close the crossing minutes after shots were fired between occupants of cars just east of a Canada customs building on Cornwall Island.
