Vancouver - A judge has found millionaire Sikh businessman Ripudaman Singh Malik and sawmill worker Ajaib Singh Bagri not guilty of conspiracy and murder in the 1985 Air India bombing that killed 329 people. The men were also acquitted on charges related to a separate bomb that killed two Japanese baggage handlers the same day. Justice Ian Bruce Josephson of the British Columbia Supreme Court said he simply did not believe the testimony of witnesses who linked the men to the two bombs. Gasps and sobs could be heard throughout the high-security courtroom as relatives and friends of the victims absorbed the decision. Edmonton - The man who shot and killed four Mounties in rural Alberta used a sheet as camouflage to sneak up on the police officers, according to a radio station in Edmonton. Investigators believe James Roszko covered himself with a sheet and put socks on over his boots to muffle sound as he walked through snow toward the officers in the Quonset hut, said CHED Radio. Yarmouth, N.S. - A woman who took an hour to scoop her dog's poop has been fined $215 in the first conviction under Yarmouth's pet cleanup bylaw. Grace Marginson didn't pick up the mess made by her dog right away, but she returned to the field about an hour later. A judge said Tuesday that the bylaw says poop must be picked up immediately, and he fined her $215.
