St. John's, Newfoundland - Striking public sector unions in Newfoundland say Premier Danny Williams has already decided to bring in legislation to end the labour dispute that's crippling the province. With talks between the two sides stalled, the unions representing 20,000 striking public servants continued their war of words with the premier and his Conservative government over the weekend. Vancouver, B.C. -The Canadian Food Inspection Agency confirmed Saturday two more farms in the Fraser Valley are infected with the avian flu. But, said Dr. Cornelius Kiley, the CFIA's chief veterinarian for B.C., it's no surprise the farms were found to be infected because they were both near the high-risk region. Although she was prime minister of Canada for less than five months, Kim Campbell has been ranked as one of history's 50 "most important political leaders" by the National Geographic Society. Campbell, who led the country for 132 days back in 1993, was included for being Canada's first female prime minister, according to the Washington D.C.-based society. Montreal Canada's last big independent hockey equipment and apparel maker is now in the hands of U.S.-based Reebok International Ltd. The Hockey Co., a Montreal sports equipment maker whose roots go back to 1899, will be taken over by the Massachusetts-based company.
