Windsor, Ont. - Bishops from the Anglican Church of Canada have decided to place a moratorium on the blessing of same-sex unions for the next two years. More than 70 bishops meeting in Windsor, Ont., this week made the decision unanimously. "There [will] be no new initiatives, no new parishes, no new dioceses participating in such blessings until the year 2007, and that's when the whole Anglican Church of Canada gathers from across the country," said Primate Archbishop Andrew Hutchison, the head of the Anglican Church in Canada. The Canadian branch of the church has been facing criticism over its liberal stand on homosexual unions, and has been asked to withdraw delegates from a worldwide Anglican meeting this summer. Kelowna, B.C. - An Alberta man was found with a stolen truck and enough explosives to destroy a three-storey building. RCMP in Kelowna, B.C., say Kevin Kisby is "very well known to police throughout Western Canada." He was found with 97 sticks of dynamite and a 10-kilogram mixture of fertilizer and fuel oil in a stolen pickup truck, said police. Halifax - The federal Conservatives would not be able to save the recent deal over offshore oil revenue if they join with the Bloc Qubcois to defeat the Liberal budget and force an election, Jack Layton warned Thursday.
