St. John's, Nfld.-The bodies of a Toronto-area couple have been found in Labrador's Torngat mountains a year after they disappeared, RCMP said on Monday. A crew of police, Parks Canada staff and local searchers found the remains of Daniel Pauze, 31, and Susan Barnes, 35, on Saturday near the summit of Mount Caubvick. The couple had been dropped off in northern Labrador on Aug. 3, 2003 for what was to be a three-week hike in the remote area. Toronto - The largest jackpot in the history of Lotto 6/49 will be shared by the owners of two tickets bought somewhere in Ontario. The grand prize in Saturday night's draw was worth just over $29 million, the largest in the 22-year history of the 6/49 game. Winners have one year to claim their prize. Ottawa - Federal officials in Ottawa said Monday that a computer engineer arrested in Pakistan and linked to al-Qaeda is not a Canadian. A British newspaper reported on the weekend that Mohammed Naeem Noor Khan had Canadian citizenship and had travelled on a Canadian passport. Foreign Affairs officials said Monday that Khan had filed some sort of application with immigration officials outside the country, but the application was still pending. What status he had applied for wasn't immediately known. Khan was arrested on July 13 in Karachi. Investigators called his computer and cellphone equipment a treasure trove of information.
