Saskatoon - The already rancorous debate over the cost and quality of health care will intensify to a dangerous level if Ottawa and the provinces don't move forward, says the man whose report on the system has gone largely unheeded. Roy Romanow acknowledged Wednesday he is growing increasingly frustrated because few of the changes he suggested a year ago have been implemented. "There is a ton of major work to do and there is a time for action right now and it's overdue," Vancouver - An outraged Tory riding president was among 50 protesters who turned out for a luncheon attended by the leaders of the Progressive Conservative and Canadian Alliance parties on Wednesday. Kady Williams of the Vancouver East riding said she voted for Peter MacKay in the Tory leadership race earlier this year, but she just can't stomach the proposed merger between the two parties. "They don't stand for what I stand for," said Williams. Behind her, the crowd that Williams said was made up of Tory members gathered outside a downtown Vancouver hotel chanting: "Hey, hey, Peter MacKay, how many lies have you told today?" Toronto - With the results of the Liberal leadership convention already a foregone conclusion, Paul Martin, 65, appeared upbeat as he arrived at the convention with his wife Sheila smiling at his side.
