Port Alberni, B.C. - A man wanted for murdering his parents in Brandon, Man., quietly got out of his pickup on Vancouver Island and surrendered to the RCMP officers that were following him Friday. Paul Joubert, 39, was caught by police after officers received a tip from a truck driver who had spotted Joubert's vehicle. Joubert's parents, both retired physicians, were killed last weekend in Brandon. Edmonton - A former Edmonton banker who stole more than $16 million from the Bank of Montreal and blew it on fast women, fast cars and expensive jewellery was sentenced to seven years and four months in prison Friday.
