Toronto - Todd Bertuzzi has been "vilified" by the media and the NHL made a "horribly unjust" decision by fining the Vancouver Canuck's $250,000 US for his on-ice attack against player Steve Moore, the Canucks' general manager said Thursday. A visibly angry Brian Burke lashed out during a news conference following the league's decision to suspend Bertuzzi for at least the rest of the season, including the playoffs. Ottawa - The federal government is scrambling to deal with another multi-million scandal, this one involving the Department of National Defence. The RCMP and internal auditors are trying to trace up to $159 million in an investigation that has pitted the Liberal government against Hewlett-Packard, one of the world's biggest technology firms. Hewlett-Packard said it was asked by National Defence to manage a group of suppliers and often the nature of the work of these sub-contractors was kept secret from the company. "HP is concerned that it has been exposed to potentially fraudulent activities," their statement said. Toronto - The Conservative party should delay its leadership convention because of problems with the voters' list, Belinda Stronach's campaign said Wednesday, saying there is widespread chaos in the voters' list. The leadership convention will be held March 19-20 in Toronto.
