Ottawa - The premiers of Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador said Wednesday that they're more optimistic they can come to a deal with Ottawa over provinces' offshore oil and gas revenues. The premiers were speaking after a meeting with Prime Minister Paul Martin in Ottawa. Danny Williams, the Newfoundland premier, and Nova Scotia's John Hamm want Martin to honour what they say was a promise to give the provinces 100 per cent of the revenue from offshore oil and gas developments. Green Cove, N.S. - DNA tests will be used to try to determine if the human remains found on a beach in Cape Breton belong to a couple from Florida who disappeared four weeks ago. Parke and Patricia Hunsaker of Gainesville were visiting the Cabot Trail when they disappeared just after Thanksgiving. Their gear was found in an abandoned vehicle and a camera was discovered floating in the water near the rocky look-off point. It was believed they were swept out to sea. Ottawa - The death of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat is an opportunity for renewed efforts to bring peace to the Middle East, Prime Minister Paul Martin said on Thursday. Arafat "personified the Palestinian people's struggle," Martin said in his statement Arab groups in Canada said Arafat had brought the world's focus to the Palestinian cause and called him a symbol of his people.
