"The Ring 2" This movie was the best way to do a sequel, it left off where the original film stopped. Where the first movie ended it's as if another story was about to begin and that's what the second movie is, you can almost say that Ring 1 and 2 are just one big movie. This movie is somewhat the informative about all the things you did not know in the first movie. You find out why the curse exists and who was Sadako really. Also it ties up all the loose ends from the first movie, you find out what happened to everyone. Expect almost all your questions to be answered in Ring 3, it is going to be a prequel from the past of Sadako. It is really quite interesting what happens with the characters in this movie, the two main characters were secondary characters in the first film that you only saw for an instant. As for the main characters from the first film they take up the secondary role and you will only see them for a short while. Most of the characters are the same in this film, nothing changes and it seems you are still watching Ring I. All comments that were said about the characters in Ring I are applicable here. Ring II is still the same movie as the first one, slow and psychological with a lot of dialogue and story to understand. One thing that is really different in this movie is that the horror element is somewhat toned down as in you do not feel the same suspense as in the first film. This is probably due to the fact that they are finding answers and somewhat revealing the mystery. But don't get me wrong, like the first film, you still have the extreme fear causing scenes. Luckily unlike Ring I you do have subtitles for this movie, they are clear and visible but the only problem is the usual white on white. Now most of you are thinking that since you can't get Ring I with subtitles you'll just go and get this one, that is a bad idea. Without seeing Ring I it is pointless to see Ring II as you missed like half of the story. Also if you see Ring II before Ring I that will ruin the entire series. To really enjoy this movie you should only see it after you've seen Ring I and of course you enjoyed that film. 3.3 stars out of 5.
