More Willow Park Ladies' History At the annual meeting in 1954, there were 48 members present. I. Ketchen gave a report on the Eaton Playdowns to be held in Flin Flon in January, 1955. Entries are to be four members from the same club making up a rink. The winner of the first square were listed in the meeting minutes as I. Phillips with B. Dow, G. Scoretz and M. Winters. The second square winner was Joy Longmore with D. McFarlene, M. Searle and D. Hope. The Royal cup winner and recipients of individual small cups was the I. Phillips team, which was also the club champions that year. The executive that year was P. Gilmore as president, Mrs. Searle as vice-president, Mrs. A. Cook as secretary, Mrs. N. Coulter as treasurer with the two-year executive positions held by J. Reagan, I. Phillips, with N. Burkett holding a one-year term. In November 1954, an executive meeting was held in which Dot Ash made a motion that the Willow Park Ladies Curling Club ask permission of the men's club for the use of their upstairs club rooms after completion of games on the ladies curling nights. The motion carried. An executive meeting was held on February 8, 1955 to discuss what appears to be an annual .25 bonspiel within the club, with prizes including nylons donated by Willowvale Grocery and tins of mixed nuts from Parkview Confectionary. The bonspiel was held on one day. The annual meeting was held on April 15, 1955 with 31 members present. A motion carried "that we discontinue donations to charitable organizations." The new executive consisted of Margaret Searle as president, Isobel Phillips as vice, Blanche Dow as secretary and Norma Coulter as treasurer. The executive for two-year terms were Doris McFarlene and Flo Grant. In for one-year terms were Donna Rudd, Marg McCrimmon and Olive Ledieu. At the meeting, the membership enjoyed a buffet supper catered by St. Peter's Vestry Guild at $1 per plate. The semi-annual meeting was held November 7, 1955 with 37 members present. Isabelle Ketchen's team had won the Royal Cup. The next annual meeting was held in April, 1956 in the Willow Park Club Room with 45 members present. At this meeting, a discussion took place regarding Creighton wanting to become part of the bonspiel committee. The decision was to keep it as a Flin Flon bonspiel committee for the present. The executive at that time consisted of Isobel Phillips as president, Donna Rudd as vice, Blanche Dow as secretary and Grace Lethbridge as treasurer. Holding two-year terms were Isabel Hill and Louise Robinson, with one-year terms held by Bernice Monson, Doris McFarlene and Flo Grant. Also at the meeting, suggestions were made that for the good and welfare of the club a "mixed social" be held. Personnel of rinks in 1956-57 season were: Isobel Phillips with Kay Einarson, Sylvia Haggarty and Sadie George; Olive Thom with Bobby Lucas, Jean Kirkbride and K. McKay; Louise Vawter with Grace Pollon, Marg Searle and Ruth Stonehouse; Marj Woloshyn with Phoebe Turcotte, Mary Campsell and Delphie Crone; Flo Grant with Mrs. Harrison, Dody Bergman and Vivian Wooley; Vern Ford with Bess Broland, Isabel Hill and Ruth Albott; Isabelle Ketchen with Pat Gilmore, Zandra Wright and Marilyn Romphf; Louise Robinson with Val Inglis, Mrs. Gunther and A Kedryschuk; Dot Ash with B.
