The Zoe Life Submitted by Pastor Marcel Carriere Amisk Lake Church Life is made up of choices. Some choices we make may be small and not affect our life at all. Like what shirt you may wear that day or what you order at the restaurant. All the choices that you've made up to now are a result of where you are at the present time. Some people go through life blaming people for their problems in life. They blame their spouse for wrecking their life, blame their boss because they don't get a promotion, etc. The word for life in Greek is Zoe. Zoe is referring to living life in the spirit. The soul is distinguished from Bios, which is our physical life. Zoe is the nobler life and it expresses all of the highest and best which Christ is and he gives to the saints. So you can go through life (bios) and be alive in the physical body but have a dead spirit. When one asks Christ to come into his life his spirit becomes alive and he now lives the Zoe kind of life. In Christianity we have a teaching that we're made up of body, soul and spirit. When the body passes away by physical death we who have asked Jesus to bring us into Zoe kind of life experience eternal life because the Creator gives us a new spirit. So death for the Christian is not death of the spirit but a continuation of the spirit in the presence of the Lord. On the other hand when you die without a new spirit, you experience an eternity without God. In essence, those who don't have the Zoe life are doomed to hell. I started out talking about making the right choices in life. Choose the Zoe kind of life. Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes unto the Father but through me. The only way anyone comes into this world is with an earth suit made up of flesh and blood. The only way you get into the kingdom of God is by dressing in the Zoe apparel, which is a renewed spirit. We are born in the devil's kingdom. Colossians 1:13 "For he delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved son." Choose Zoe life. Ask God to forgive you of all your sins. Choose life. Ask Christ to fill you with his spirit. Make the right choice. This is Pastor Marcel and Theresa Carriere saying goodbye and God bless.
