By Scott Anderson Student Minister with the Presbyterian Church of Canada Ecclesiastes 3:16-17; "Moreover, I saw under the sun that in the place of justice, even there was wickedness, and in the place of righteousness, even there was wickedness. I said in my heart, God will judge the righteous and the wicked, for there is a time for every matter and for every work." Our modern culture is very cynical towards those in power, for we like King Solomon have seen wickedness in the place of justice and in the place of righteousness wickedness dwells. Politicians lie, judges set criminals free, and the police break the law they are to uphold. Workers of evil prosper, only the good die young, we have nothing to put our hope in, nor to lace our trust in. The church is unfortunately full of corruption. This world is full of heartache, pain, sorrow, disease, and sickness. Is there anything that is not tainted by corruption? Is there anyone we can trust? Is hope vain? Yes, there is hope that justice will happen, for God judges both the righteous and the wicked! So let us turn to the Judge of all the earth, who abhors the workers of iniquity, and bestows righteousness upon all who believe in Jesus Christ, whom He sent not to condemn the world, but to save the world. All who confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead are made blameless. These God declares are righteous, for by faith they are made righteous. Righteousness is the state that the faithful followers of Jesus Christ are called, in other words they are made blameless before the eyes of God. All who repent, and are baptized into God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, are made blameless on the Day of Judgment. The Lord promises that at the end of time, "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."
