Farewell to Flin Flon Submitted by Ken Seburn The time has come for Carol and me to say goodbye and we do it in the words of St. Paul as he bade farewell to the elders at Ephesus: "And now (we) commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all who are sanctified. (Acts 20:32) And we also say thanks to many people. The following list is by no means exhaustive: (1) those who helped in the production and airing of many Hours of Sacred Music, along with the technicians who made sure we got to air. Who knows how many heard and were blessed by the broadcasts? We commend you all to our faithful Lord. (2) And we cannot forget Discovery Club and those who worked with us. That was truly a labour of love! We pray for the "kids" who are now grown up. Don't forget the lessons you learned. (3) To the people of First Baptist Church, those who prayed with us and for us in good times and bad. "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." (Galatians 6:9) (4) To the whole community, especially those who worked with me in the Canadian Mental Health Association. I learned a great deal about mental illness and the need to become involved. Thank you to those who are involved in the many volunteer groups. May God bless you. (5) To my colleagues in the Flin Flon/Creighton Christian Ministerial. It was great to be working with such a wonderful team. (6) And last but not least, we thank our compassionate and loving Lord for his forgiveness when we have sinned. We can leave with a clear conscience and we urge any who read these lines to both receive God's forgiveness and to extend it to those who may have wronged you. "May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word." 2 Thessalonians 2:16,17.9/19/2003
