Yanbu, Saudi Arabia - Americans are being urged to leave Saudi Arabia following the weekend shooting that killed five Westerners and one Saudi. Canadian Embassy officials also warned Canadians living in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to stay away from western businesses frequented by foreign nationals and to keep a low profile. Turkey - Turkish authorities have arrested at least 16 suspected Islamic militants, foiling an alleged plot to bomb NATO's June summit in Istanbul. All were said to be members of Ansar al-Islam, a group with suspected links to al-Qaeda. Police, said to have been watching the group for a year, seized equipment to make remote-controlled bombs, guns, books on bomb-making, forged identity documents, and thousands of CDs that reportedly contained training advice from Osama bin Laden. U.S. President George W. Bush is expected to attend NATO's two-day summit at the end of June. The meeting will mark the entry of new member countries Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Slovenia and Slovakia. Baghdad - Seven U.S. soldiers have reportedly received reprimands in connection with the abuse of Iraqi prisoners. The seven will not face courts martial but the reprimands could end their military careers. Six U.S. military police officers are facing criminal charges.
