Helsinki, Finland - A new, fast-spreading version of the Mydoom worm destroys files on computers worldwide as it increases attacks via e-mails, Finnish computer security experts warned Thursday. The Mydoom.F worm, discovered Feb. 20, has so far infected about five per cent of all Internet e-mail traffic, said Mikko Hypponen, director of research at the antivirus company F-Secure. "It's very worrying because it destroys files and important documents, whereas the earlier Mydoom worms used computers simply as vehicles.'' Cap-Haitien, Haiti - Rebels began moving toward Haiti's capital of Port-au-Prince on Thursday and were awaiting the order to attack, a guerrilla leader told The Associated Press. The leader, Guy Philippe, said their mission was to arrest President Jean-Bertrand Aristide if he did not resign, so he could be tried on charges ranging from corruption to murder. "He has to pay for what he has done to the Haitian people." London - British intelligence agents spied on UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in the run-up to the Iraq war, a former member of Prime Minister Tony Blair's cabinet said Thursday. Blair refused to say whether the allegation was true. But he said Clair Short, formerly his international development secretary, had been "deeply irresponsible."
