Cape Town - Under pressure to help the millions of people with HIV in South Africa, the government on Wednesday approved a plan to distribute free AIDS medicine to all who need it within five years. Cabinet signed off on the plan submitted by Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang, clearing the way for anti-retroviral drugs to be distributed through the national health system. But it did not specify when the drugs would become available. Some 4.7 million South Africans, roughly 11 per cent of the population, are infected with HIV. An estimated 600 to 1,000 South Africans die every day from AIDS-related complications. Hong Kong - Hoping to finally nab a wily crocodile that's evaded capture for two weeks, an Australian croc expert set a new trap baited with dead mice, chicken heads and pieces of fatty pork. The 1.2-metre reptile has attained celebrity status by thwarting attempts to catch it with tranquillizer darts, traps and a harpoon. Los Olivos, Calif. - Authorities said Wednesday an arrest warrant had been issued for Michael Jackson in a child molestation case. Word of the warrant came a day after authorities raided Jackson's Neverland Ranch. The $12.3 million US Neverland Ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley has a mansion, its own zoo and amusement park, and has often been the site of children's parties.
