Beijing - China confirmed two suspected cases of SARS Thursday Ð one in Beijing and another in the eastern province of Anhui. On April 7, a 20-year-old nurse was quarantined in Beijing after developing fever and tremors. Five others who had contact with the nurse were put under hospital isolation after they developed fevers. Doctors are monitoring 171 other people who had contact with the nurse, reports the Xinhua new agency. Severe acute respiratory syndrome killed 800 people around the world in 2003, including 350 in China and 44 in Toronto. SARS caused illness in more than 8,000 people. Seoul - There's a state of emergency in North Korea following the collision of two trains in which about 3,000 people were either killed or injured, according to South Korea's Yonhap news agency. Eyewitnesses report the trains carrying flammable materials exploded at 1 p.m. local time at Ryongchon station, 19 kilometres from the Chinese border. Debris from the explosion landed in the town of Sinuju on the border between the two countries. Los Angeles - Michael Jackson will go to trial on charges of child molestation, after a California grand jury voted to indict the musician. The former child star has been charged with seven counts of lewd or lascivious acts on a child under the age of 14 and two counts of administering an intoxicating agent.
