Tehran - Iran's former president Hashemi Rafsanjani said Tuesday that his country has created missiles that can now reach targets 2,000 kilometres away, a substantial increase from its previous range. In August, Iran test-fired a new version of its Shahab-3 missile. The old version was known to have a range of 1,296 km, which would make it capable of hitting Israel. A missile with a 2,000- km range could hit parts of Europe. Iranian Defence Minister Ali Shamkhani had said in August that Tehran was working to improve the Shahab-3's range and accuracy in response to efforts by Israel to upgrade its missile system, the Associated Press reported. London - The company that makes more than half the flu vaccine used in the United States said Tuesday that it won't produce any more for this current flu season, after British officials suspended its licence. Dr. Anthony Fauci, chief of infectious diseases for the U.S. National Institutes of Health, said the country will face a "significant shortage" of flu vaccine. The suspension may also affect other countries, but it's unclear whether it will affect Canadian supplies. Vancouver, Wash. - Mount St. Helens spewed a cloud of steam and ash again Tuesday morning, in another sign that the active volcano could erupt at any moment. "Most of us are convinced there's fresh magma down there," hydrologist Carolyn Driedger said.
