Washington - Deposed dictator Saddam Hussein may go on trial this summer, Iraq's interim president Ghazi Mashal Ajil al-Yawer said Sunday. Al-Yawer, who made the comment in the United States, said America will give Iraq custody of Saddam after June 30, when Iraqis will take over governing of the country from the U.S. Saddam has been jailed in an undisclosed location since he was captured last December. College Station, Texas - Former U.S. president George H.W. Bush landed safely after making a parachute jump on Sunday to celebrate his 80th birthday. Bush was hoping to jump solo, but gusty weather forced him to go in tandem with a member of the U.S. Army's Golden Knights parachute team. The father of the current president has made three previous jumps. The first was in the Second World War, when his Navy aircraft was shot down over the Pacific Ocean. The most recent was five years ago, when he jumped to celebrate his 75th birthday. Dublin - Irish voters backed a government initiative to end an automatic citizenship rights for babies born in the country, the only such law within the European Union. The Irish government wants to change the immigration law, saying foreign women are traveling to Ireland to get their babies EU passports. Some 79.2 per cent of voters favoured the government amending the law.
