Washington - U.S. President George W. Bush, who had resisted the creation of an independent Sept. 11 commission, said he enjoyed being questioned by its members Thursday, adding that he answered every question during his three-hour meeting with them. It was a "good conversation. It was wide ranging," a raspy-voiced Bush told reporters in the Rose Garden. "It was important. It was just a good discussion." The 9/11 commission issued a statement after the meeting, describing the meeting as "extraordinary." Jakarta, Indonesia - An Indonesian cleric suspected of leading a group linked to al-Qaeda will be re-arrested when he's released from jail on Friday, Indonesian police said. Abu Bakar Bashir is believed to be the spiritual leader of Jemaah Islamiyah, a group blamed for the 2002 Bali bombings. The 65-year-old cleric is winding up an 18-month sentence for immigration charges. Fallujah - A former general in Saddam Hussein's army will be responsible for security in the Iraqi city of Fallujah under a new deal reached on Thursday. The Fallujah Protective Army will include up to 1,100 Iraqi soldiers and will be led by a former division commander. It will move into the hotbed of anti-U.S. insurgency Friday. Many insurgents in the city are believed to be former members of the Iraqi army or pro-Saddam militias.
