Washington - The United States says North Korea must demonstrate its commitment to getting rid of its nuclear programs before it receives any security guarantees or aid. The call comes just ahead of six-party talks on North Korea's nuclear weapons. "We've made it clear to the North Koreans what it will take to solve the problem and the benefit that ultimately awaits for North Korea when the problem is resolved. But the resolution of the problem demands that North Korea fully divulge and fully turn over and fully dismantle [its nuclear program]," said U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell. Riyadh - Saudi Arabia has offered al-Qaeda militants a one-month amnesty, saying their lives might be spared if they surrender. Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah made a televised statement on Wednesday that gives militants a month to surrender. It was issued in the name of King Fahd. He warned those who do not surrender that they will face the "unflinching power and unshakeable determination" of the government. Madrid - A bull got the upper hand at the end of a fight with one of Spain's top matadors during a fight in the city of Alicante. Enrique Ponce, 32, was preparing his last strike on the animal when he was thrown into the air, trampled and gored in the thigh. Ponce was taken from the ring after fainting. He'll have to stay out of the ring for at least six week, his doctors say.
