Thanksgiving is on Monday, October 13th this year. Many people think only of the day off and not necessarily the meaning of the day. It is truly a day to give thanks for everything important to us. Thanksgiving traditionally celebrates the harvest and many of the foods we associate with Thanksgiving dinner come from the fall harvest. Cranberries, yams, brussel sprouts, potatoes, gravy, turkey and of course pumpkin pie are all comfort foods of autumn. The holiday provides some extra time to spend with family and friends. Remember to count your blessings and give thanks for not only the turkey dinner, but also for everyone you care about. Enjoy the day!
