Imagine a restaurant with a spectacular view. Now imagine one where the view is always changing. Captain Neil Adams of Atlantic Ocean Dinner Cruises is operating the province's first floating, fine dining restaurant. Inspired by river-boat operations in many of the world's harbors, Adams decided to bring one to Newfoundland. Aboard the Nouvelle Orleans, a three-deck flat-bottomed paddlewheeler, guests can order a three-course meal while touring the St. John's harbor and area, or Conception Bay in the summer. The boat can accommodate up to 250 people and is equipped with two bars, a dance floor and a stage for live entertainment. Reservations are taken on a first come, first serve basis. The ship may fill up faster during certain times of year. Reservations should be made a minimum of three days in advance to ensure a place. Their dinner cruise will feature music, supplied by their onboard DJ Peter Barfoot, guaranteed to keep you dancing well into the night.ÊThey also have karaoke for some occasions and "screech-ins" for out-of-province guests. On special occasions they may feature live entertainment. Mid-May they will be hosting a Dinner Theatre/Mystery Murder Cruise. Ê Something to Ponder: The quickest way to double your money is to fold it and put it back into your pocket!
