If you are interested in Colour Therapy, Feng Shui, Nutrition, or Visual Art, then mark August 12 and 13 on your calendar. The Inner Wisdom Women's Conference is scheduled for that weekend at the scenic Rocky View OTA at Denare Beach. "This is the first year and we are definitely hoping for many more conferences to follow. This conference was created to bring women together who are open to new ideas, who are interested in alternatives to the main stream and who are searching for their spiritual path," states conference organizer Luanne Berg. The keynote address is 'Finding Balance...isn't that what we all want?' Ð to feel balanced, in control, confident in all that we do. Where did the joy and play go in our lives? Whether it's time for your family, work (career), friends, or just time alone, we all need to find the right balance in our lives. The facilitators will be traveling from Calgary, Edmonton, and Saskatoon to present their workshops. Cathy Gordichuk has received training and certification as a colour and vibrational therapist from The Colour Institute of Canada. In 1998, she started Colour Energetics School of Vibrational Studies for those who wish to pursue the study of colour and sound therapy. She has presented her courses and workshops throughout Canada. Mary Forster has had extensive training in Feng Shui, the 5,000-year-old oriental art of living in harmony with the environment. In September 2000, she went to Malaysia to be 'fine-tuned' by the world's most celebrated Traditional Feng Shui expert, Lillian Too. Paulette Millis is a registered holistic nutritional consultant and a registered social worker with 20 years experience teaching, facilitating, and counselling people through life issues and healing challenges. She is the author of two books, numerous articles and columns, and has 15 Cooking for Health commercials being aired on SCN. Sandra Mindus has been able to focus on and study her life-long passions of reading, writing, painting and photography. In 1993, while living and working in Vancouver, she discovered the transformative power of the mandala. Since that time, the mandala has not only become a part of her journaling practice, but an art form in itself. She now facilitates workshops for women, primarily using visual arts as self-discovery and healing tools. There will be a total of 16 different workshops throughout the weekend and each participant will be able to choose four. Evening activities such as meditation and discussion groups will be offered for those who interested. The facilitators will be available for private consultations and will have books and products for sale. Berg says, "It's a rare opportunity to have such knowledgeable women come up here to facilitate the conference. The fee is very reasonable for this type of event and we're expecting a lot of women to attend. Registrations have been coming in from The Pas, Snow Lake, and as far away as Yorkton and Saskatoon."
