Police say the man was able to run away and was spotted in a nearby field.

The investigation brought officers to another home in the city, where they found a sump pit outside.

The man’s two legs were poking out of a tunnel at the bottom of the pit.

Mounties were able to get the 25-year-old free and he was taken into custody.

He faces multiple charges, including break and enter, assault and resisting arrest.
