Team Davidson, drawn together by a common desire to play some oldtime Bunk hockey, is coming back to the RGM tournament this summer: bigger, fatter and balder than ever before. Pat Liss, player-coach and team manager, is determined that this year's squad will finally bring home the Green Street Cup. To that end he has secured the services of some players whose names should ring a bell for Flin Flon's more knowledgeable hockey fans. Liss has once again secured the services of one time Bomber stars and fan favourites, Blair and Mark Davidson. The two siblings, who look so alike they are often mistaken for twins, love to play at the Whitney Forum under the framed pictures of the role models of their youth. Their younger brothers, Scotty and Kurt, have also agreed to provide their somewhat less noticeable, but equally important hacking and litigating skills to the mix. Two other Green Street products, John Woloshyn and Darrel "Blueline" Hedman will add some depth, as will one time Bomber and Cleveland Crusader draft pick Jeff McDill. (He married a Green Street girl.) One time Parkway residents and bunk stars Kelly Gilmore and the Brothers brothers, Kevin and Derek, have also declared themselves game-ready and have started an intensive training regimen. Speaking of brothers, the squad has been bolstered by the recent off season acquisition of Pete, Paul and John Premachuk. The Premachuks feel they have something to prove, after recently being cast aside by the Bunk Blackhawks. Rumour has it the Premachuks have been asked by organizers to provide monetary assurances that there will be no violence episodes, as has been their custom in previous tournaments. Liss also managed to acquire offensive specialist Mitch Duncan from the Bunk Blackhawks. Most fans in the know would see that as a coupe for Team Davidson, and possibly the worst managerial decision made by Brent Lethbridge since he first entered a team in the RGM. Now, if you're quickly adding up the collective ages of the players in your head and wondering how we're going to be able to even get our skates on for the second game, fear not as the youthful trio of Matt, Andy and Dan Davidson, aka the MAD Line, will provide some much needed pep. The team will once again be backstopped by Joel Liss. Joel has agreed to end his one year hiatus from hockey on the promise his dad will keep Stewie Lloyd out of his crease.
