Flin Flon’s bantam AA Bombers continued their red-hot start to the season this month, winning their third consecutive tournament without losing a game.

The club headed to Morden for their first tournament of 2019, coming home with gold medals once again. After facing two teams from Morden, the Bombers earned two wins, first beating Morden Black 6-0, then topping Morden Red 6-1. In the tournament finals, the Bombers faced Portage, who didn’t put up much of a fight. The Bombers won 7-1 to claim the title, scoring 19 goals on the weekend while giving up only two.

Before that, the bantams won their first two tournaments of the season in November and December. At their first tournament in Shellbrook, Sask. from Nov. 17-18, the Bombers took down Warman, Melfort, La Ronge and the host Shellbrook Elks in succession to earn the all-around win.

A few weeks later, the squad accomplished the same in Thompson from Dec. 7 to 9, beating the host King Miners in the finals 3-1 for the second time on the weekend.

Flin Flon also earned lopsided wins against The Pas and Norway House, beating the Huskies 9-4 and the North Stars 8-2.
