Former Flin Flon Bomber captain Ben Lanfermann will be taking his talents to university this fall.
Lanfermann has committed to play for the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings for the 2018-19 season.
The commitment comes after a three-year stint with the Bombers that included two runs to the Canalta Cup finals and a chance to be the team’s captain last season.
The Paradise Hill, Sask. native played 131 games on the Bomber blue line, tallying 48 points, including 33 in his final season.
It’s the latest in a number of prominent commitments by ex-Bombers to Augustana. Former Bombers Tanner Korchinski and Dillan McCombie have both played with the team recently.
Lanfermann is not the only member of last year’s Bombers squad to earn a post-secondary scholarship. Forward Tyler Nyman has committed to the NCAA DIII Hamline Pipers, while forward Chrystopher Collin has announced a commitment to Bowling Green for the 2020-21 season.
