Former Flin Flon Bomber Pierre-Luc Morin is focused on a farming future.

The Ste-Hélène-de-Kamouraska, Quebec product is enrolled at Montreal’s McGill University. Morin is studying agricultural economics.

“I plan to farm alongside my brother on my parents’ dairy operations, as well as working as an agronomist,” he said.

After his junior career wrapped up with the Bombers in 2015-2016, Morin opted to focus on academics. He has great memories of his days in maroon and white.

“I really appreciated my time in Flin Flon,” Morin said. “What I enjoyed the most was to step on the ice at the Whitney Forum. The atmosphere was electrical, especially in playoff games. Big thanks to the Bombers fans that make it so special.”

The defenceman joined the team partway through his 20-year-old season from the Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

The campaign before that he was on the Sorel-Tracy Rebelles, where he was a teammate with Jason Lavallee.

Reunited in Flin Flon, the players helped the Bombers make it to Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League finals. Morin was the team’s lone 20-year-old defenceman and he was a key on the Bombers blue line.

Lavallee, now playing and studying at the University of Quebec – Trois-Rivières, was one of the key players who helped the squad make it back to the league finals the next season.
