Waberski played as a forward with Flin Flon from 1998 to 2001. He and his wife, Alysia, have three daughters: Maya, 7, Layla, 4, and Willow, 2. He owns an oilfield trucking company called Reliance Ventures.

He has plenty of great memories of suiting up for the Bombers. He said the people were the best part.

“I made a lot of lifelong friends during my time playing in Flin Flon,” he said. “I will always appreciate the support that I was given from my coaches, billets, friends and the amazing fans of the Bombers.”

After his junior hockey career, Waberski headed to Iona College in New York State and played at the NCAA Division I level for a season.

He then spent three years with the University of Regina Cougars. Waberski contributed offence along with toughness. According to the Regina Cougar hockey alumni website, he still ranks in the top 10 in team history in penalty minutes.

Waberski played one season of pro hockey in Germany. After his time overseas, he returned to Fort St. John.

Waberski played competitively for the Fort St. John Flyers Senior AAA team. In 2010, he helped the Flyers win the Allan Cup national championship on home ice. He retired from competitive hockey
after that.
